Red Hair and a Green Country

As we are trying to travel as inexpensively as possible, we took the ferry from bristol to dublin. 10 hours overnight...doesn't sound too bad, but not very much fun in reality. We took a 5 hour train ride that got off at 12:30 in wales and then we had to go through different customs till about 2:30, got on the ship around 3:00 and slept till about 6:00. When we arrived, we really didn't have anywhere to go, so we found a hostle as soon as we could and were able to stash our packs. We could not check in till after 2. So we went to figure out getting to scotland, after 2 hours of trying to figure it all out, we decided to scrap it cause it was just too expensive to go. (super depressed andrew).

By the time we got out of there we were not happy with Ireland. Very little sleep, no scotland, hungry, and it didn't seem like it was all that cool of a city. We were so grouchy and annoyed with the city, We wished we had never gone there. As we tried to see some different things, it started to get a little better.

The city has a feeling of "If you like our city, fine. If not we could care less". One of the first things we actually decided to pay for was a small church that you could see the crypt. This is the place that inspired Bram Stoker to write Dracula. The people buried there have been well preserved because of the constant temperature and methane from the ground. it was pretty cool. Our guide was awesome though. Amazingly cheesy and he knew it but pulled it off wonderfully. The best part was that he let us do things it says not to. for example take pictures of the mummies. Also he let me play the organ in the church. This is the organ that handel practiced on for the Messiah. yep, 300 years old. I decided to play "Touch me"by the doors. It was one of the surreal moments that you know you probably shouldn't have, and know you will never get again.

Later on we went to watch a football match in a pub. We sat and talked to some Brits for a little over an hour that were there for horse racing. it was really fun.

Dublin was soo worth it.
