hair her majesty

so these last few days have been pretty eventful.  i found ben (my roomate) in front of big ben where we were planning and it was a joyous reunion filled with hugs and lots of laughter.  okay so maybe not so much the hugs and lots of laughter, but it was good to see him.   First off we headed to see the changing of the guard cause that was the only day that we would be able to see it.  the palace of course was magnificent and the square was pretty cool, but the changing of the guards really wasn't all that impressive for us.  there were TONS of people though.  i guess you check it off as one of your must see's and move on though.

after that we found our hostile for the night.  a crappy little place for 14£ per night.  28 dollars each.  (its hard not to change from dollar to euro).  So the rest of the day we just went around and saw tons of different things.  our favorite was trafalgar square.   the square was really cool, and all the buildings and roads leading up to it were really cool too.  the national gallery was fun to go through and see a good collection of famous paintings.  we also got to go to the national portrait museum (lame), westminster cathedral and abby, st. pauls cathedral, picadilly circus, covent gardens, and china town.  st. pauls cathedral was cool cause we were able to listen to a chior there and the cathedral was just amazing.  we were exhausted by the end of the day carrying our 30 pound packs everywhere.

some of the interesting things that we noticed were how scarry it was to cross the road.  looking both ways several times just in case some crazy dude took us out while we were looking the other way.  the pigeons are not afraid of people at all and fly right by your head, london bridge is not fallen down (but it is not cool at all, the cool one is tower bridge).

sorry mostly an informational blog on what we have done, i will try and put a little more life into the next couple.
